Most household stress isn't caused by the thing itself. It's caused by the scramble around the thing.
The boiler throws an error code and you can't find the model. The insurer asks for a policy number and you're hunting through email. The washing machine needs a part and you guess.
A Home Dossier is a boring little system that prevents all of that — and Home Concierge is built to be exactly that system.
It's not a "perfect records" project. It's a single place that holds the information you repeatedly need under pressure — with reminders that tell you when something's about to expire.
What a Home Dossier is (and what it isn't)
It is: one place for the few details that unlock faster decisions.
It isn't: a huge archive, a weekend of scanning, or a spreadsheet hobby.
The goal is speed — not perfection. Home Concierge is designed around this principle.
The 45-minute setup (set a timer, don't get fancy)
Sign up for Home Concierge and you're going to capture:
- Your key property details
- Insurance policies and warranties
- Utility contracts and providers
- Vehicle information (if applicable)
- Important legal documents
Each one maps directly to a category in your dashboard — no folder structure to invent.
Step 1 (5 minutes): Add your property
In Home Concierge, add your property with its address. This becomes the anchor for everything else. You can track:
- Home Insurance — with your policy number, provider, renewal date, and cost
- Buildings Insurance — separate or combined, with its own renewal tracking
- Contents Insurance — never forget when it's up for renewal
- Boiler Service — log when it was last done and when it's next due
- Gas Safety Certificate — with expiry date and automatic reminders
- EPC Certificate — store the rating and expiry
- EICR Certificate — track the next inspection date
Upload the actual policy documents too. Home Concierge's AI will read them and extract key details like policy numbers, expiry dates, and costs — so you don't have to type them in.
Step 2 (10 minutes): Add your utilities and contracts
Walk around with your phone. You're capturing providers and contract details.
Energy
- Provider name and tariff
- Contract end date (critical — this is when prices can jump)
- Monthly cost and account number
- Whether it auto-renews
Broadband
- Provider and plan name
- Contract end date
- Monthly cost
Mobile
- Provider and plan
- Contract end date
- Monthly cost
TV License
- Renewal date (annual)
- Cost (currently £169.50)
Home Concierge flags auto-renewing contracts prominently — because that's where most people lose money without realising.
Step 3 (10 minutes): Add your vehicles
Enter your vehicle registration and Home Concierge pulls MOT and tax data automatically from the DVLA. For each vehicle you can track:
- MOT expiry — with automatic reminders before it's due
- Car Tax — renewal date and cost
- Car Insurance — provider, policy number, renewal date
- Car Service — when it was last done and when it's next due
- Breakdown Cover — provider and expiry
- Car Warranty — expiry date and what's covered
MOT advisories are stored too, so you know exactly what needs attention before the next test.
Step 4 (10 minutes): Add insurance and legal documents
These are the documents you always need and can never find:
- Life Insurance — provider, benefit amount, and premium
- Critical Illness Cover — what's covered and when it renews
- Income Protection — monthly benefit and policy details
- Will — where it's stored, who the executor is, solicitor details
- Power of Attorney — type, attorney name, and status
Upload the actual documents (PDFs, photos of paper copies). Home Concierge stores them securely and uses AI to extract key information. No more hunting through email or filing cabinets.
Step 5 (10 minutes): Add personal items
Anything else that has a renewal date or needs tracking:
- Pet vaccinations and insurance
- Health insurance and dental cover
- Employer benefits (death in service, private medical)
- Home emergency cover
How to keep it alive (without it becoming a project)
This is where Home Concierge does the work for you.
You don't need a habit — you get:
- Email reminders before anything expires (at the interval you choose)
- A dashboard that shows what's coming up, colour-coded by urgency
- AI document parsing — upload an invoice or renewal letter and it extracts the details
- A timeline view so you can see your entire year at a glance
When you receive a new policy document or invoice, just upload it to the relevant item. Home Concierge reads it and offers to update the details for you.
What you'll notice later
A Home Dossier isn't exciting on day one. It's excellent the first time you need it.
You'll waste less time searching, get faster quotes, and feel calmer when something breaks — because you won't start from zero.
If 45 minutes feels like too much tonight, start smaller: sign up and add one vehicle registration. Future-you will still be grateful.
You don't need a perfect filing system. You need the right details in one place you can actually find — and Home Concierge is that place.
